On 22-23 October 2016, at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, the first ever SNOW EXPO took place – an event not only for skiing fanatics. The exhibitors represented over 80 brands offering winter equipment, fashion and tourism. As per weather forecasts, it started snowing on 22nd October during the SNOW EXPO 2016, on Saturday, a signal for the start of winter season 2016 / 17. 5500 people met at the Narodowy stadium that day, from industry experts and their guests, the best Polish sportspeople, to whole families with children – all connected by common passion for winter sports and tourism. The visitors had a chance to see the newest equipment and browse the offer of European winter destinations – starting with Poland, through Slovakia, Austria, Italy and even Spain. There were many attractions in place, such as a kids zone of the Kusznierewicz Academy, climbing walls, exhibitions by GOPR, amazing mountain-related contests, and even a skiing simulator! This particular attraction was also used to organize a SNOW EXPO SKI CUP, won by Piotr Zelt, who has won a week of stay and a ski pass at the Italian Maso Corto resort. Thanks to the Austrian TYROL region, the visitors had the chance to watch a premiere and several viewings of the “Streif – One Hell of a Ride” video. There were also many lectures, presented by professionals, for amateurs. Choosing equipment, fitting skiing boots, preparation for the skiing season in order to avoid injuries. There were also many meetings with sportspeople - Andrzej Bargiel, Maciek Bydliński, Mateusz Habrat, Mateusz Kusznierewicz, Andrzej Osuchowski, Paweł Palichleb, Karolina Riemen - Żerebecka, Marcin Szafrański – met with their fans, there was no end to discussions.
